Lucy's Yoga
All of Lucy′s classes are General level − postures are often broken down into various levels of complexity so that if you are a beginner and new to Lucy′s classes, or simply having a week where you do not feel like pushing your limits, you can opt for a simpler variation within a posture. In this way, each student has the ability to explore their own personal boundaries.
Classes are suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities and include specialist classes for Pregnancy Yoga, a beginners Yoga Course and Yoga for the over 55's and Yoga for those recovering from back injuries or undergoing chemotherapy. All classes are mindful of those who are recovering from injury as well as the optimally fit!
A new Cardio − Yoga class has also been recently introduced into Lucy′s timetable − this class consists of 45 minutes of running and Cardio work let by Fitness Trainer Sean Girlus, around Wandsworth Common, followed by 45 minutes of Yoga in the Sanctuary of The Wandsworth Ecology Centre, to lengthen and stretch out all those running muscles. As Lucy says, 'many runners complain of not having the opportunity to stretch properly before and after training, likewise some Yoga students would like to embrace a more demanding Cardio workout within their practice − this new class aims to address both these needs.'
One on one and private Classes are also offered by Lucy where she can visit your home for classes or alternatively you can come to her. This can be particularly effective as a beginner − half a term of classes taken before joining a general class ensures that the individual does not feel a stranger to the practice. Private classes are also invaluable in injury rehabilitation in order to become familiar with postures which are particularly suitable for each particular case. Please call Lucy to discuss your requirements, or alternatively go to the 'contact us' option on the Home Page.
Each week Lucy's classes are completely different and targeted to work on a different area of the body − for example we may work on hip openers one week, and on backs the next − classes are certainly not repetitive − with hundreds of postures at the Iyengar teachers disposal, they are guaranteed to be demanding in a different way each week!
